PCC celebrates 57th Anniversary

The Presbyterian Church in Cameroon (PCC) is 57 years old. Commemorative activities took place in all 28 presbyteries across the country with a call on Christians of the PCC to pray for God to pick the right person to lead the church in elections due on Tuesday November 25, 2014 at the Church Centre Mankon.

At the PC Ntamulung, the Reverend Pastor Talikong Amos, Mezam presbytery Secretary and Parish pastor reflecting in a sermon titled “keep the good confession” challenged his flock to keep true to the oath of baptism, they took when they give their life to Christ.

He called on them to “search yourselves and move away from those things that distant you from God”.

He also commended the strides made by the church since its independence from the Basel Mission on November 13, 1957. The PCC he continued started with less than a million Christians in 1957 and has grown to over two million Christians today.

Commenting on the up coming synod elections, he blamed the current leadership crisis in the church on bad Christians whom he quarreled, had failed to keep a ‘Good Confession’ and urged all to continue to pray hard for God to pick the right person to lead the PCC and to reflect in prayers over the theme given by the outgoing moderator, which is “stepping aside in hope”.

Activities leading up to the PC Day included amongst others visits to orphanages, prisons, the sick, choral music competitions, sac race and bible quiz.

The PCC was born on November 13, 1957, from the Basel Mission.
