Evolate left her hospital bed in a private hospital in Mvog-Ada for John Chi’s crusade at the Yaounde sports complex on Saturday 13 December. Unfortunately for the 30 years old mother of one who had registered to be part of the healing miracles of the man of God, she could not even see John Chi.
Evolate was just one of the many sick people who trooped in the Yaounde sports complex for healing. The 6000 sitting capacity of the sports complex was full to capacity with about half of the number that were provided seats and projectors out of the complex, though they had wished to be part of the healing miracles.
“I came and the ushers told me I cannot get inside as the hall is full, I wanted the man of God to pray for me”, one of the sick sitting outside the complex told this reporter.
Many others who came to the Yaounde sports complex but were not opportune to see the man of God blamed the organizers for choosing the sports complex as venue of the crusade knowing the number of people who will be part of the crusade.
Besides, the many ushers recruited were not very receptive according to some miracle searching Cameroonians who came to the crusade but could not even see John Chi. Most of them who spoke to this reporter frowned at the ushers.
“One of them told me that I cannot stand on the prayer line because I don’t have a receipt, but I had because I registered. When I showed her the receipt she said my situation does not permit me to be there and advised that I should leave my picture with something and go home”, one of the sick told this reporter.
Most of those who were disappointed blamed organizers for not telling the man of God that the venue wasn’t big enough and for not allowing everyone present to see the man of God as most of them hoped that by seeing the man of God they would be healed.
Apart from the attitude of the ushers and other members of the organizing committee, the presence of a huge number of forces of law and order frightened many miracle seeking Cameroonians. “Though they were not disturbing, their presence in man of God organized event raises so many questions”, one of the participants told this reporter.
