They organized Saturday an intercessory prayer so that the Almighty keeps the country safe from the disease.

With the Ebola haemorrhagic fever lurking around Cameroon while security is precarious at certain borders, the Seventh - Day Adventist Church does not remain arms crossed.

Apart from the meditations and daily worship, they organized a special intercessory prayer, last Saturday in Yaoundé, so that the Almighty keeps Cameroon in peace and prevents this epidemic, which has already been created havoc elsewhere, from surfacing in Cameroon.

During a popular celebration, deacons, elders of churches and pastors have invoked the Lord in turn watch over Cameroon. And Valère Assembé Minyo, president of the Adventist Church in Cameroon explained: "with regard to the current context, the Church, as an instrument in the hands of God has opted for intercessory prayer, in order to summon the Lord who told us, at the time of distress, invoke me and I will answer you."

The faithful, also prayed for the benevolent presence of God to the suffering populations in communities affected by the terror of war; for the total victory of our defence forces and the cessation of fighting, the Cameroonian authorities, particularly for the head of State, the Government and the civil and military authorities. Intentions were also elevated to seek peace in all the countries in trouble in Africa, as elsewhere.

At the end of this prayer, Valère Assembé Minyo indicated that it will not be the last. "They will continue, he said, because the Lord asked us to pray without ceasing, until the day where he would come and until we shall see how the hand of God will change the course of events."
