The call was made by the new Parish Priest of Tobin Catholic Church, Rev. Father Charles Mbuntum, on July 6, during an occasion to raise funds for the construction of the Perpetual Adoration Chaplaincy in Tobin by the Fon of Nso H.R.H Sehm Mbinglo 1, animated by Artist Loveline Fonyuy of Shisong.
Rev. Mbuntum thanked his predecessor, Rev. Father Roland Berngeh who made arrangements for the occasion, the Fon of Nso and Artist Loveline Fonyuy for coming to support the project to promote the sacrament of Adoration.
He said the fund raising exercise, coming just at the start of his new mission to Tobin, was a sign that good things will continue to come to Tobin during his tenure of office. Rev. Mbuntum, before his transfer to Tobin Parish, was the parish Priest of Jakiri for seven years. He thanked the Fon of Nso for the role he played in the construction of one of the biggest Parish halls at Jakiri Parish and for his peaceful reign, which has earned him a decoration of the Knight of Cameroon Order of Valour from the Government.
The chairman of the Pastoral Council Tobin Parish, Laisin Michael, in his speech said the occasion was meant for reception of the Parish Priest and the fund raising exercise for the construction of the Perpetual Adoration Chaplaincy. He went on to introduce Rev. Mbuntum as the new Parish Priest who has taken over from Rev. Father Roland Berngeh, now the new Parish Priest for Kumbo Cathedral Parish.
He will be assisted by Rev. Fathers Daniel Ache Amuhngwa, Peter Kineng and Rev. Dr. Aloysius Aki. He told him to draw Christians to God by his action and deeds. He was hopeful that the increase of the number of Priests to the Parish will win more converts and Christians for the church. It was his wish that the Parish Priest and his colleagues will be a source of encouragement and inspiration to the faithful.
A representative of the Fon of Nso called on the Christians to massively support the Fon’s fund raising exercise by dropping enough money into the Fon’s bag.
