Alex Song has expressed how privileged he is and how proud he feels to be wearing the captain’s armband for West Ham United.
The Cameroon international led the Hammers in their 2-0 win against Queens Park Rangers, with skipper Kevin Nolan on the bench and vice-captain Mark Noble also injured.
“I have been captain before at Arsenal but it was a privilege to wear the armband against QPR,” he told the club’s official website.
“I know Kevin Nolan and Mark Noble have been captains this season but without them, the manager had to choose someone and it was good he showed the trust in me.
I just wanted to return that faith and thank him for that responsibility.” Song is currently on a season-long loan from Barcelona.
