Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed Cameroon as Uganda’s first round opponent in the 2015 African nations beach soccer qualifiers.
The qualifiers will start with the first round for 10 teams.
Uganda plays Cameroon in the first round in a two legged affair.
The first leg will take place between 13th – 15th Feb 2015 with the second leg coming just after one week.
Should Uganda successfully eject Cameroon, they will face another West African nation, Ghana in another two legged qualifer in March 2015.
The successful nation will join hosts, Seychelles and 9 other nations for the final tournament due for April 2015.
CAF Manager in charge of Competitions Divisions, Ahmed Reda Salem, confirmed the draws;
The first round of the CAF 2015 Beach Soccer qualifiers will be played in early February with the return leg after a week. The second round begins in Mid March and ends March 22nd 2015. 19 (Ninteen) teams will be engaged in the qualification matches over the two rounds.
Nine (9) teams were exempted from the first round qualifiers basing on their participation in the 2013 Championships which was hosted in Jadida, Morocco as well as their official ranking.
These are; Senegal, Cote D’Ivoire, Morocco, Nigeria, Egypt, Madagascar, Libya, South Africa and Uganda’s likely second round opponent, Ghana.
