Cameroon in danger, Amajimbos in Mali's way

Cameroon is in a "swim or sink" fixture against Cote d'Ivoire while South Africa take on Mali Thursday as attention at the CAFU17 championships shifts to Niamey's Municipal stadium and Group 'B' action.

The young lions went down 1-3 in a gritty performance against Mali and will be looking to roaring their way into this match early on and secure a victory that would keep alive their hopes of progression.

The baby elephants will get into the fixture buoyed by the tenacity they showed when they came from two goals down to rescue a point against South Africa's Amjimbos on the opening day of play in the group.

Cameroon coach Joseph Atangana is confident his developing lions have the attributes to do well and take down the Ivoirians.

"I am convinced that if we put in very good performance against Cote d'Ivoire, we can be able to collect all three points. We need the boys to move a level up and they are young and have the drive to do that," Atangana said while Amajimbos trainer Molefi Petrus Ntseki hopes his charges will be better focused and have more concentration than they did in their first match.

A win for Mali would all but secure them a place in the last four and with it a Chile 2015 place.
