The Cameroon Football Federation, FECAFOOT, has announced that the expected elections in April 2016 to head the Professional Football League of Cameroon will no longer take place.

The Cameroon football governing body has chosen to extend the transition by setting up an "interim management committee."

The decision is one of the resolutions of the Executive Committee meeting that held in Yaounde on March 17, 2016.

Justifying its decision, FECAFOOT revealed the text governing the association of the Professional Football League of Cameroon were not adopted following the law and the articles of FECAFOOT.

This new development will undoubtedly not please the current president of the League, Retired General Pierre Semengue, who had all along been presented as the favorite candidate in the election of April against the likes of Fabien Mvogo.

Cat calls have greeted the decision from the leaders of the regional leagues including the outspoken, Domingo Akoue Epie of the Central region.
