One of the main focus will be on the match between Apejes and Yosa in Yaounde.

Matches counting for the 14th day of play of the ongoing League one championship will take place in stadia across the country this weekend. One of the main focus will be in Yaounde between Apejes and Yong Sports of Bamenda. The stakes of the encounter will be to find out whether Apejes will take advantage of the fact that co-leader; Astres will be exempted to go solo at the helm of the classification table. Apejes is the revelation of the championship this season flirting at the top of the table though they would have been relegated to League Two championship at the end of last season. Their survival in the league one championship was thanks to the decision to extend the number of clubs from 14 to 19. Detractors say the performance of Apejes is like the machete of child of a child which is sharp in the money but goes blunt as the day progresses. It is not the first time Apejes has had a good start of the championship but struggles for survival as the championship draws towards the end.

Also on the look-out will be the encounter between third-placed Unisport of Bafang and Renaissance of Ngoumou who have been wallowing in the relegation zone since the beginning of the championship. While Unisport will out to improve or maintain their standing in the league table, Renaissance will be trying to ebb out of the danger zone. Fourth-placed Fovu will be gunning for a place among the top three of the championship so as to increase their chances of clinching a spot in continental competitions next year when they take on Njalla Quan Academy in Limbe on Sunday.

While the battle at the helm of the table is to clinch the championship title or a place in continental competitions, the contention at the bottom is that of survival. Tonnerre, Canon, Renaissance and Douala Athletic club in the 16th, 17th, 18th and 19th positions respectively are involved in the battle for survival in the first division. Hence the encounters pitting Cosmos of Bafia and Tonnerre of Yaounde will be of interest especially with the lifting of the suspension of Coach, Dieudonné Nke. Canon hit by intestinal quarrels will also be out to impress fans and officials alike that they haven't lost their sting. UMS of Loum will be on standby while the Astres versus Coton Sport encounter has been deferred to an undefined date.
