Lionesses train for 2014 female CAN

They began their third grouping early this week in Yaounde. Thanks to a gold medal at the Africa Games in 2011 in Mozambique, the Lionesses want to change status to the Exchequer of African football.

And this started in the month of July with an expanded preparatory internship (35 players). Since the beginning of the week, 26 lionesses took the path in the training in the lawn. Qualified for the 9th edition of the women's football CAN in its new formula, they participate in the third and penultimate grouping in Yaoundé. The public wants to make the Lions, housed in Group B with the Algeria, South Africa and Ghana, their favorites.

The heavy rain which fell Tuesday in Yaoundé did not alter in any way the commitment of each of the local players convened for the internship. In two weeks, they will be joined by nine professionals. The workforce is large, the challenge great for each of them.

This is what justifies the commitment of these players in the rain and on the synthetic lawn of the technical Centre of the Cameroonian football at Odza in Yaoundé. Accustomed to playing second fiddle, the national team must pass to the next level. There's still room for progress.

They are only 21 players who will go to Namibia for the CAN from 11 to October 25. They all go to Namibia with a common goal in: third place minimum since the first three will go to the World Cup in Canada in 2015. 'Yes. We must be ambitious.
