The Football Federation interim chairman Joseph Owona has appointed a team of four local coaches to assist the national team coach Volker Finke before and during the upcoming World Cup in Brazil.
volker-finkeFormer Cameroon international Roger Milla brought up the idea two months ago, suggesting the German manager needed to be assisted by indigenous experts who are conscious of the value of the sport to Cameroonians.
The group is made up of Jean Manga Onguene, Bonaventure Djonkep, Etienne Sockeng and Alexandre Belinga, all of them former footballers in the domestic league and now coaches or advisers.
According to the FA, their mission will be to observe and analyse the technical and tactical qualities of the teams Cameroon will face at the World Cup, and submit a detailed video analysis to the head coach.
Milla had called for the dismissal of Finke after describing him as an incompetent coach, but the 1990 Fifa World Cup sensation changed his mind when the 66-year-old German qualified the Indomitable Lions for Brazil 2014.
Cameroon are drawn in Group A against hosts Brazil, Croatia and Mexico and will open their campaign against the El Tricolor in Natal.
