Njalla Quan Sports Academy, NQSA, has rekindled hopes of surviving in the League I championship this year after they humiliated visiting Apejes of Fou 3-0 at the Limbe Centenary Stadium on Wednesday November 19.

The victory was a step ahead in their battle for survival and it helped propelled them to the 16th position a point short of escaping relegation.

During the encounter, NQSA showed some verve and effervescence which has been lacking in the team’s play style throughout the season as they were able to dominate their opponents by scoring three goals and also keeping a clean sheet.

NQSA's record this year has been the poorest since the team ascended into Cameroon’s top tier league in 2009. NQSA has won only two of their 12 home games since February. The team’s performance up to now reads 22 games played, four wins, 12 draws and 6 defeats, with 13 goals scored and 17 conceded and presently logged at the 12th position in the 19 teams table.

Njalla Quan Sports Academy has been limping throughout the league since the passing away of its founding president Henry Njalla Quan. Despite Wednesday’s win, the team is still in the drop zone, and will need to win their last two games and hope to maintain.

NQSA will host 14th place Canon of Yaounde next Wednesday, November 26, 2014. Canon of Yaoundé is also not safe as they have 38 points while Njalla Quan has 35 points.

They will face Astre on the last day of play in the championship in Douala Unofficial Classification
