Everton are poised to hand over a £240,000 parting gift to striker Samuel Eto'o when he completes a move to Sampdoria.
The Cameroon star is all set to join the Italian side and the final paperwork should be completed in the next 48 hours.
The Toffees will receive a £1m fee from the Italian club but will also pay Eto'o one month's severance - equal to his £55,000 a week wages. Sampdoria have agreed to pay a similar figure to the former Barcelona and Inter Milan star as part of his agreed signing-on package.
Everton did have an option to extend the 33-year-old's stay at Goodison Park by a further 12 months, although boss Roberto Martinez has flatly dismissed speculation of any fall-out.
