The Unisport of Huat Nkam defender, Ngweni Ndassi Kadiang scored on his second international appearance after coming in as a substitute to save Volker Finke’s side from a shock defeat at the hands of Thailand.
Ndassi was Cameroon's hero after his debut strike salvaged a 2-3 victory away to Thailand in their latest Asian tour friendly.
Ndassi, who came on as a second-half substitute, grabbed a decisive winner with three minutes remaining to spare his side's blushes.
All eyes were on Finke’s men as they looked to keep winning ways after defeating Indonesia a few days ago. However, it was the host that took the lead at the 31st minute after Aurélien Chedjou put Thailand 2-0 up with a bizarre own goal.
Chedjou unaware that he was under no pressure, nicked the ball from his keeper’s arms and directed the ball goal-wards.
But Cameroon found a superb riposte when Benjamin Moukandjo in the first half restored parity before Njie Clinton completed the quick reversal by slotting home in the 78th minute from a penalty spot.
That appeared to be enough to seal a draw as the hosts kept the Lions at bay.
Cameroon flew out of the blocks like a team looking to silence their critics and took the lead thanks to Ndassi close range at the 87th minute saving Cameroon from the prospect of a humiliating draw against Thailand.
This gave Cameroon a 3-2 victory over their low FIFA ranking host, Thailand.
The result cranks up the pressure on Finke with his side unconvincing yet again, with his stay as Cameroon Coach in a doubt.
