Alex McLeish makes his African debut as Zamalek boss when his side visit Cameroon's Union de Douala in the CAF Champions League round of 32 first leg on Sunday.

Zamalek boss Alex McLeish seemed to know little about his side's upcoming Champions League opponents Union de Douala ahead of both teams' round of 32 first-leg clash on Sunday.

The Cairo giants kick off their Champions League campaign away from home at Cameroon's Douala, with recently-appointed manager McLeish tasked with getting the club back to the African winning podium.

The Scottish boss, however, was not able to predict anything regarding the game due to the lack of information about the five-time Cameroon champions.

"Douala are a mysterious side," ex-Rangers boss McLeish told Zamalek's official website.

"I can't talk much about the match, as I will be watching replays for their recent games to know their weaknesses and strengths."

Five-time African champions Zamalek, who last won the title in 2002, then host the Cameroonians a week later.

Should Zamalek go through, they will meet the winner from the match between Tunisia's Club Africain and Algeria's MO Bejaia.
