Cameroon coach Volker Finke has accepted that a lack of concentration from his players cost them following the 1-1 draw in their Africa Cup of Nations opener against Mali.

Ambroise Oyongo struck six minutes from time to cancel out a second-half opener by Sambou Yatabare in a game that initially appeared set to drift towards a goalless conclusion.

After the match, Volker acknowledged his players had taken their eyes off the prize.

"The goal of Mali was a matter of concentration. The players were not concentrated," said the German coach.

"The manner we played this match, especially the second half, it was the manner to win the game.

"But for us this was not bad. In the team, there is Moukandjo, Njie Clinton et Salli Edgar who are ready to play.

"Today, I started with with Moukandjo and Salli, I found that there is no need for change.

"We played with Choupo-Moting who usually play in the attack, there were also Etoundi, Aboubakar, Salli and Moukandjo who are also strikers. I played these five strikers because I wanted to win. This draw was not bad because we played for a win."

Cameroon will play their next game against Guinea on Sunday.
