The 18-year-old Cameroonian midfielder, Mark Ojong begins professional career with US Major League Soccer (MLS) side, Seattle Sounders FC.
Born on April 25, 1997, Mark Ojong, who played for Rainbow FC and Yong Sports Academy of Bamenda, YOSA, has signed a two-year contract for an undisclosed fee. Reacting after penning down the contract with the USA based club, Ojong said he was determined to face his challenges.
“I feel so happy to have joined one of the best clubs in MLS. There are many challenges ahead and am ready to tackle them. My mind is now focused on reaching the top.” Ojong said.
The Cameroonian midfielder will have to learn from experienced players in his squad like United States men's national soccer team captain Clint Dempsey, Fredy Montero, Osvaldo Alonso among others.
Ojong was also part of the Intermediary Indomitable Lions’ squad that took part at the just ended Orange African Nations Championship, CHAN, Rwanda 2016.
Seattle Sounders FC is an American professional soccer club based in Seattle, Washington. The Sounders was established on November 13, 2007, as an MLS expansion team, making it the 15th team in the league and the third Seattle soccer club to share the name.
Seattle has set MLS records for average attendance, led the league in season ticket sales, and qualified for the MLS Cup Playoffs in each of its first seven seasons.
