At the end of the 2008/09 season, during which he played 33 league games for Nancy and five UEFA Cup matches, he signed for Celtic on loan.
He played for the Scottish heavyweights in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers and featured in 33 league games for them during the season, at the end of which Celtic were keen to sign him.
However, they could not reach an agreement with Nancy and he returned to the club before moving to Bordeaux, where he has spent the past three seasons.
