Cameroon inherits a difficult draw as Brazil is ranked 3rd in the world, Russia 4th, Japan 5th, South Korea 9th and Argentina ranked 12th in the world.

Cameroon classified 21st on the world ranking will therefore have an uphill task to sail through the group stage of the competition.

It is worthy to mention that Cameroon will be in their maiden participation at the Olympic Games in volleyball following the silver medal won by the feminine national selection during the Olympic qualifying event in Yaounde.

"We are not going to be ridiculous," said the coach, Jean René Akono 'but Cameroonians should not expect much from this expedition. We have a young team whose ambition is to win the Africa cup of Nations in 2017, he added.

Cameroon has already started preparing for the competition and will continue their training in Spain before moving to Brazil one week before the beginning of competitions.
