The Coordinator of the 60th Commonwealth parliamentary Conference, which was held recently met the press this Wednesday, October 15, 2014, in Yaoundé.

MP for Fako West and coordinator of the 60th Conference of Commonwealth parliamentarians however did not reveal the cost of the organisation in Yaoundé. This non disclosure has reigned in many national and international press briefings which had taken place. We do recall that exorbitant sums were spent on the organisation of this meeting.

It was expected that some officials would justify the expenditure. Several topics were discussed, including the opening speech delivered in French by the president of the Republic. The Vice-President of the National Assembly said that this should not be problematic, as far as Cameroon has two official languages; the French and English. Moreover, the participants in the Conference were prepared for this reality.

Issues of Boko Haram and Ebola were also highlighted. Some delegates deeply affected by the two phenomena, felt the need to combine efforts to quickly stop them.

Emilia Lifaka Monjowa requested the indulgence of everyone to address the dysfunctions that were observed during the Conference. No human work is perfect; there will certainly be improvements during the next 'rendez-vous'.

Soon, proposals will be circulated to be observed at every level by all participants to ensure the achievement of the Millennium development goals.
