National Museum of Cameroon launched

The much anticipated reopening of the National Museum finally came yesterday, November 6.

The launch event will last for three days starting from November 6-9, 2014 with exceptional activities which are much anticipated.

Interestingly, the reopening also marks a huge celebration for Cameroon as the country celebrated the 32 years of accession of the President Paul Biya.

The Museum brought together the history of Cameroon; through images of historical figures, remains of the story of the peoples of the North, South, East and West.

Just on the first day of reopening, thousands of young people trooped in. There were the likes of the old, curious, history lovers and those who wanted to be among the first to discover the National Museum. The excitement was at its peak as the visitors filled corridors and rooms which contained their history.

Also in attendance were diplomatic figures and media men present to discover the huge content of their historical and cultural heritage. The Ministry of Arts and Culture displayed information at the entrance of the museum for visitors.

The Open Days end this Sunday, November 9. The Museum is open every day between 11am and 18h. Access is free. After the launch visitors will have to pay before entry.
