When compatriots studying in China seek employment here or in Europe, others think of Chinese entrepreneurs investing in Cameroon.
But there are more and more the Cameroonians who engage in self-employment or want to invest in Cameroon. They are found these days at the Cameroon Embassy in Beijing within the end of the academic year.
This is the case of Abdul Dadoma. He is in his twenties and he has completed four years of study in agriculture at the China Agricultural University.
He plans to launch a cluster, 'of the genus creating corn fields, developing poultry farms to produce eggs from hens whose corn will constitute the basis of food, sell the products of the two activities.'
He wants to be in Cameroon no later than July 15 to retrieve a portion of the material he did embark by boat.
With his partner, Roderick Mbanji Tani, they have already invested 5 million FCFA in equipment purchased in China (incubators, peelers, and the machinery to manufacture Earth bricks).
They are 8 tonnes of maize production per hectare and have already completed negotiations on 100 hectares of land. For the first two years, they will have 50 million of investment.
Then, very enthusiastic, Adamou Dadoma devours all the documentation on the internet or elsewhere, that falls on his hand, dealing with the business environment in Cameroon.
It is not illusion: "the climate will be less advantageous particularly in relation to institutional support, infrastructure development and must be added access to fertilizers and pesticides is still very expensive.
But Cameroon is our country, it will be necessary that we implement what we have learned here in China.
Jean Levis Janet Joyce, less than 40 years, is the other face of this generation who believes in Cameroon.
Based since 2004 in the city of Qingdao (seaside city in Eastern China), J.L. Joyce would "set up a representative office in the country in order to better make known and establish commercial business partnerships in sectors such as the machinery industry, sectors of international public works and in the sports sector.
It is a sports equipment manufacturer with its brand JLM. It is to go to Cameroon during this month of July.
With these few figures who want to invest in the country, suffice to say that the new instruments such as the agricultural Bank or the Bank of SMEs already have potential customers.
