I know when you look yourself in the mirror as you apply those makeups and all the necessary touches; your aim is to look good. You might be making some mistakes which you probably didn’t know and avoiding those mistakes today could be the secret between looking good and great.

Below are 5 beauty mistakes every lady should avoid

1. TOO MUCH BLUSH

Some ladies leave their homes looking like clowns after applying blush. The aim of applying blush isn’t for you to look like a circus clown, so these are some few tips to note when next you apply a blush. Peach and pink work well with lighter skin tones while bronze tones work well with darker skin tones. You should know this because your blush should coordinate with your skin tone and the colour palate for the rest of your makeup. Apply colour only to the apples of your cheeks and blend with a large brush if you want to achieve the right amount of blush.

2. NEGLECTING YOUR EYE BROW

A properly shaped brow can open up the entire face of a woman and it’s amazing to know many women still neglect them. While it’s important to pay attention to your brow, you should know that over-plucking or under-plucking your brow isn’t good for your face. Over-plucking your brow leaves you with a perpetually surprised look while failing to pluck them can nullify the effort that you devote to your eye makeup.

3. TOO MUCH FOUNDATION AND POWDER

Using too much foundation and powder makes you look older. Makeups tend to settle into fine lines and emphasize them so that is why you should avoid applying too much foundation. Go for a concealer that is slightly lighter than your skin tone if you are attempting to cover blemishes or other imperfections and then apply makeup with a matte finish.

4. POOR LIGHTS WHEN MAKING UP

When making up, use natural light so you can see how you will actually look. Using lights like fluorescent lighting can give you a deceptive look. You don’t want to look great when you look at yourself in the mirror using a fluorescent lighting and then looking so different when you step out of your apartment.

5. NOT MOISTURISING

For your skin to look good, you need to moisturise it properly. You don’t want fine lines and creases which come as a result of the skin being dehydrated. Learn from the video below to help you practice.
