The just ended Annual Fashion Show Week 2014 event had models from Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Gabon and Nigeria who graced the occasion and made it a memorable one.
Anthony Orji was one of those fine models who was an expert in the game. The Nigerian supermodel tells us about an emotional experience in Douala during an interview with Culturebene.com.
Orji you were in Cameroon for Annual Fashion Show, how did it go?
The show was very exclusive! It was fun ... And all the time I spent here in Cameroon was very chic. It was my first show in Cameroon. I hope to repeat but this one was great! I thank the organizing committee for making the show superb.
Give us a brief biography?
I started modeling in 2004-2005 but I joined a formal agency in 2010. Since then, I have worked with different but now I am a Freelance model. Modeling has an exceptional feeling for those who have passion for this business. If you have no passion, you cannot do much in the world of modeling. I encourage aspiring models, who want to carve a niche for themselves, to be part of a renowned agency because they pave way for a bright future.
What are your other professional and technical skills in life outside of modeling?
I had an OND in 2006 but I was already working as a model. That is why I chose to stick to this profession.
You have been in modeling for 10 years, what future plans do you have concerning your profession?
I would like to be an elite mannequin in a shortest possible time because I do not have the luxury of more years in the trade. I would really mentor models who embrace the craft, which happens because since I became a model, I always give my best to stay on top and I want them to learn that too. I hope to be in the next major fashion events also.
Annual Show has ended but what are your final words after this great show?
I hope to return to Cameroon in a very short time for a big show. I really had fun here, it was the bomb!
