Alex Song is renowned for his adventurous dress sense but the Barcelona midfielder might have taken things a step too far with the latest addition to his wardrobe... a pair of glow in the dark trainers.
The 27-year-old enforcer, who spent last season on loan with Premier League side West Ham, posted a picture of his illuminated footwear while enjoying what appears to be a girls' night out.
The Instagram picture of Song posing in his new sneaks with wife Olivia and a pair of lady friends was accompanied by the caption: 'Quality night with the girls'.
Song's future remains uncertain, although the Hammers are still holding out hope of convincing him to make his loan move permanent this season.
The former Arsenal midfielder impressed last term before his form dipped in the latter stages. He has had interest from AC Milan and Inter, while Chelsea and Manchester City have also discussed his merits due to his homegrown status.
Song could be allowed out on another loan but Barca would prefer to sell for around £6m.
Joint-chairman David Sullivan told West Ham's website: 'I can assure you we have not given up on Alex Song yet.
'Before Christmas, Alex was outstanding and if we believe we can get him back to that sort of form - and maybe with a new manager we can - we would very much like Alex to come.
