The biennial fashion event in Cameroon is back after an excellent rating as number one in 2012.

After auditions in Buea and Abidjan on Saturday, October 25, it is the turn of the Safari club in Yaoundé to host the audition for the 7th edition of the Annual Fashion Week Show.

About 200 participants, both male and female competed to be selected to officially participate as models for the Fashion Week Show.

The ladies were however required to model in ‘Matelot’ (shorts). Any female without this requirement by the committee was eliminated.

The auditioning began at the scheduled time as the jury had lots of work amidst laughter caused by the usual bloopers made by the contestants.

The jury which was a 100% female panel including the likes of Liliane De Massock, Patricia Boowen, Valerie and Cindy Ayena to select the best among the many applicants who stormed the auditioning venue. The famous promoter of this event, Mr. Gregory Piwele also acted as the general supervisor during the auditioning.

According to Mr. Piwele, size was an important factor because models were supposed to be slim and not plus sized. For nearly four hours, the competition was tough as most of the girls were up to the task and proved themselves worthy to be selected. The males also delivered and at the end there was a decision.

After the long process of scrutiny, 20 candidates made up of 15 females and 5 males were selected for the next quest.

The next auditioning will be in Libreville and Douala before the finale set for November 24 to 29 2014 at St. John's Plaza in Douala.
