The constitutive General Assembly of this grouping of filmmakers took place October 4, 2014 in Buea.

The meeting called for the unification among filmmakers in Cameroon. They came to consolidate their various associations (Camerwood, CFI and OCAPAC) in the Cameroon Film Industry Corporation.

The constituent Assembly of the interim office of the new structure took place October 4, 2014 at Buea in the southwest region. It brought together 50 filmmakers from all corners of Cameroon at hotel residence Carlos.

"In all countries of the world, a single label represents the film industry. Going in rows scattered as was the case for several years, it did not validly represent Cameroon", explained a producer Ebénézer Kepombia, elected Saturday to the interim office. The fathers of the Cameroon film industry want an association which does not take account of linguistic and ethnic barriers, comprising all filmmakers of Cameroon, with representatives everywhere in the world".

They also undertook to use all conventional and social media to sensitize the Cameroonian filmmakers on the existence of this new association presented as "single and indivisible".

Members undertook to work as a team for promotion and sanitation everywhere in the world. Cameroon film Industry Corporation will begin by identifying the filmmakers by business category.
