Cameroonian artistes pay tribute to Guy Lobe

The vigil of the Cameroonian artiste Guy Lobe who recently died from a brief illness took place on Friday, April 17, 2015 at the Alfred Saker College Douala.

Around 2:30 am at the esplanade Alfred Saker College of Douala, the podium erected for the artistic vigil of Guy Lobe had already seen over twenty musicians and performers.

Several other singers were still waiting behind the stage. With the new generation Martino Ngalle, Charlotte Dipanda, Mathematik from Petit Pays, Sony 007 etc and older generations such as Ottou Marcelin, Benoit Bitton, Annie Anzouer, Njohreur just to mention a few.

They all come to pay tribute at the ceremony. Ekambi Brilliant, Nkotti Francis Ndédi Eyango, Sam Mbende, Long Long, Butterfly and many others, even without Prester, took an active part in this event which pulled thousands of music lovers in Douala to the place.

This show was first allowed to revisit some of the key titles by the deceased: For instance "Pull", played by Pakito at the opening of the evening; "Dieudonné", played by Marco; "His Mulema" by Armand Eko, etc. Other artists enlivened the audience with their own compositions or interpreting other successful titles.

Benoit Bitton, singing "SWE" Belka Tobis and "A Nyambe Wem," his own title aroused more emotion. Charlotte Dipanda got a wild applause when she appeared on stage to perform "She has not seen" and "Hi." Annie Anzouer's performance of the revamped version of "I cried," brought fans of the late artist to tears.

Other performers that took the crowd by storm are Sony 007 Mathematik Petit Pays, Eriko, Njorreur etc. Guy Lobe, died March 16 in Yaoundé as a result of a stroke (stroke) was buried on Saturday, April 18, 2015 in Douala.
