Cameroonian Pop singer and developer of the ‘Whitenicious’ skin product, Dencia has been on the news lately from appearing at the Grammy to taking a selfie with the West family and other Hollywood celebrities.

This time around, the Pop singer sparked a debate on skin bleaching during an interview on myfoxdc.com explaining skin lightening issues.

The Pop singer started by saying that there were a lot of misconceptions about the issue and that most women used skin products that have harmful products like hydroquinone steroids and mercury but she did a lot of research before lightening her skin.

Defending her products which according to her can work on dark spots between two to three days, she stated that it is made of natural ingredients and very safe to use.

She hinted that there are certain products in the US (which she chose not to disclose) that burned the skin of she and her sisters.

Even though she revealed that her sisters do not have their skin lightened, she stated that “as an adult you can do what you want and it was my personal choice to tone my skin as well as other personal reasons”.

Dencia however debunked the idea that she named the product ‘Whitenicious’ to sound racist or being light skinned is the best but because “the colour white is associated with purity and I wanted a name that sounded more like fun”.
