Hi guys, I did a little something over the weekend and it’s on the Double Denim trend. Been meaning to do it for a while actually.
So I’m sure we’re all conversant with the Double Denim trend, or Denim on Denim as some people call it, and must have read lots of posts and articles about it, I sure have! Anyway I’m making this one quite different, not a post about the many rules of the trend but rather how to express your personal style through a trend with so many rules.
Double Denim is a trend that’s been around for decades and it sure doesn’t look like it’s going away anytime soon. I, for one think it’s amazing, especially because there are so many looks you can pull off from it, two of which are in this post
Some basics we need to know though, for the guys and the girls as well. Try to mix different shades of your Double denim, the darker shade on the lower side preferably. Also Fit is King. Be sure that you’re fitting rhymes for both.
You’ll look ridiculous in a fitted Denim shirt and Denim baggy jeans. And most importantly, Be Yourself. Don’t be a slave to trend and rules. Try to be diverse and natural but not overboard as well. That said …
DAPPER!
I’ve been on a Dapper Spree for some time now, the Dapper Series I mean, and this time with the Double Denim trend, here’s another way to look Casual and yet strikingly Dapper. It works better to have different shades of your denim together, a lighter shade above and a darker one below preferably which was what I did here.
The right Blazer, shoes and details would nail a Double Denim Dapper look any day especially when you want to rock that semi-formal occasion. So if you’re the type that always likes to look all dapper, this one’s for you!
DARING
Can I get an Amen from my PRINTS FEVER fam in the house? Now this is for the more daring fashionistas. It’s my fun part of the Double Denim trend, and it’s no news that prints have been everywhere lately as well so it’s a really exciting combination. There are loads of prints you can use, the shirt can be left flying out with a nice pair of boots to go, and heels would just nail this for the ladies.
So those are some of the ways I’d pull off a Double Denim outfit. One that looks stylish, chic and not overdone!
