FESCARHY 2014: The countdown has been launched

The International Festival of Caricature and humor in Yaoundé lives its 15th year and the city cradles with this vibrant initiative through its married (2nd, 4th, 7th Yaoundé), even more Le Parc Charles Atangana and e Bois Sainte Anastasi, already hosts activities.

The panel of this press conference was beautifully made up of Mr. Issa Nyaphaga (cartoonist); Ms. Léontine Babéni (Festival Director); Félix Ebolé Bola (moderator); Mr. Mystero (comedian); Mr. Malik (cartoonist).


The Exchange with the media has been rather successful at the gates of the start of hostilities.


With the theme: «a life of pencil, a life of humor, enthusiasts and professionals of the 9th art (drawing, comic strip, cartoon, animated drawing and humor) are invited to a cultural walk, for which the IRONDEL Association in this humorous and caricature concert choir puts small dishes in large once more.


And such sub-themes: humor and health; good citizenship; Democratic Symphony; emergence 2035.


The festival, began its very first edition in December 1998, by days of reflection on the cartoon with the support of the French cooperation; breathing snoring maturity and singular professionalism because it should also be noted that this year's programme shines by tribute, the recognition given to regulars at the festival.


Master Mystero, comedian of genius and officiating all Sunday lunch for example on waves of National Radio through a concept which he alone holds the strings, is one of the solid values upon which rests the festival.

There are also Ezzat El-Dine, one of the most remarkable historic designer of the GRI, saucy and raw, fetish cartoonist of the daily newspaper Mutations, advocates a beautiful FESCARHY this year.


However, the celebration and promotion of humor and caricature will continue after July 06 in the different cities of the country through exhibitions.


Particularly in the universities of Yaoundé I and II; at the National Museum; at the Catholic University of Douala; at the Institute of Fine Arts of Foumban in Nkongsamba, at the Institute of Sahel Maroua.


And even the dissemination of comedy, theatre; exchanges and debates within the universities of Yaoundé I (Amphi 700) and Dschang (Amphi 300).


Then, the venue is taken for July 02 and 07 for cultural ceremonies opening and closing, for a beautiful week of trade.
