The pupils of Government Primary School Bonamateke, one of the villages of Dibombari, Moungo Division, had one of the best first term closing ceremonies ever. On Thursday December 19, they were entertained by a one-hour story telling session by Guillaume Ekoume, in replacement of the traditional Christmas tree lighting exercise. A similar atmosphere animated by Donald Mvondo reigned simultaneously at Government Primary School Dibombari. This was one out of a series of activities that marked the second edition of a cultural concept known in French as "Festival International de l'Art et la Tradition (Fiat)".
Holding from Wednesday December 18 to Sunday 22, the five-day artistic encounter regrouped national artistes from Douala, Yaounde, Bana; international actors from the Democratic Republic of Congo alongside locally based ones. The opening ceremony was marked on Wednesday evening by a theatre performance titled "La guerre des fantômes" directed by Olivier Ngoundé. The 60-minute script acted by Racine Theatre from Douala was interpreted by Jeannette Mogoum and Ignace Essoungua.
The following day, the local population was intrigued in the evening with several activities. This was through a replay of the theatre piece performed the night before, a series of storytelling, musical animation like Essewè, Ambass-bey and Ngom'a Pongo. Other dramatic presentations included "enongenonge" by Amazone theatre (Douala), "la Refugiée" by Annie Chawack from Yaounde and the internationally acclaimed "Koffi Papa Tout" acted by Marabout Théâtre Troupe from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Upto Sunday December 22, the participants and spectators unanimously entered into end of year festivities. Organised by Guillaume Ekoume, Fiat 2013 held in four out of the nine villages of Dibombari Subdivision (Bwelelo, Bossedi II, Bonamateke and Bonabweny). The annual jamboree aimed at promoting communal fellowship and solidarity, especially during the festive season.
