I’m prepared for the opening ceremony of Canal 2'Or - Krisss Lady

Dancer, choreographer and artiste, Krisss Lady is actively preparing for the grand opening ceremony of the Canal 2’Or. The latter, in full rehearsal at Essos, district of Yaoundé, received us warmly.

Q: Hello Krisss Lady, you are always rehearsing anytime we come across you.

A: (Laughs) Well that's a good thing; I guess. In fact my dance group ‘Best of Cam’ are preparing for a big event.

Q: Okay we will come back to that; time to talk about your new single, ‘GIGOLOMANIA’ an extract of your maiden album.

A: Yes, exactly, it is ‘Gigolomania’ an excerpt from my ‘Esprit’ album. Long before discovered ‘Le Wich 999’. But, my team chose Gigolomania for our entry into the city of Douala, since it is a title where there are several rhythms including Makossa to Kotto Bass.

Q: But why GIGOLOMANIA?

A: (Laughs) you know, you will notice in my tracks I talk about home and how certain issues remain somewhat a taboo. In ‘Le Wich 999’ I was talking to a girl who was desperate to get rich but ended up losing the head because she has ‘hardened’ as we often put it. Gigolomonia is the story of men who have chosen to be lazy. They live at the expense of women who love them and provide all their needs. Thus they make no effort and like leeches, they cling on them and frankly they suck.

Q: Hum! Who would have sucked Krisss Lady?

A: Uh ... Well, let's say I experienced such a man (laughs).

Q: You said earlier that your continuous rehearsals was for a big event. Tell us about it.

A: Indeed, we were contacted by the team of Canal 2'Or . I can say that I am lucky that Mr. Chinese Yangeu picked an interest in me when I was at the concert of Singuila. He later promised to book my company for another contract. So it was with great pleasure that I received the news. We have been contacted for the opening ceremony of the Canal 2’Or. Even know presently we know Krisss Lady as an artiste, I go back to my first love; Dance!

I do not want people to say Krisss became an artiste because she was suffering from a complex to be reduced to a dancer. During our first interview with you culturebene, I mentioned that I wished that both sides enliven my career professionally speaking. For me these two elements go hand in hand dancing and singing. And that is what I will serve the public with that famous night at Canal 2’Or.

Q: And on what theme is your performance based?

A: I prefer to keep the surprise for that day. But be aware that we have already checked on the basis of "I'm 2'Or Canal".
