The grand finale for the 3rd edition of the international festival of the south area will take place Sunday, December 21, 2014 in the city-Sic.

The festival opens 18 December 2014 in Douala. For this year, the organizing team of the South decided to realize this dream since the first edition to: "ensure that the festival unfolds in the neighbourhoods," noted Serge Epoh, Secretary-General.

The festival Village will be at Marion stadium at city-Sic. The other venue will be the French Institute of Cameroon, Douala antenna.

The program of the event highlights local musical traditions, nearly thirty artists from various artistic expressions will have the opportunity to showcase their talents.

Among them, Kilama, a name which perhaps does not mean much to ordinary mortals, but which left a song of posterity, "U bi ke". There will also be Julien Pestre, the guitarist of Charlotte Dipanda.

Present will be a focus on assiko planned for this edition. A musician gives reasons for her participation: "what I find in the South team, is this activism for creation and life. Assiko and other Cameroonian rhythms have always fascinated me. Beyond the music, therefore, there is combat, as stated Kilama: 'ethnic music as I call it, is so difficult to be heard, to be accepted. But even if this music is not played everywhere, it has its roots, a force. And since 1988, I fight for this music to have its place. "
