Ivorian artist locked up in Yaounde

Debordo Leekunfa, Ivorian Couper-Decaler musician, who was in custody in a cell of the Regional Directorate of the Judicial Police of the Centre (DRPJ), was released, on Wednesday after an amicable settlement with the complainant.

According to a compromise, the Ivorian musician was committed to perform “two shows” in Yaounde, “without any addition in finances by his complainant” before leaving Cameroon. We learned from police sources the content of the arrangement between the artist and the complainant.

Having received an advance of 1.5 million FCFA, of the 2 million FCFA planned for the two concerts, Debordo demanded 3 million FCFA “as Dj Arafat when he comes to Cameroon” he insisted.

A requirement which was not to the liking of the organizer of the show, who decided to put back the young artist to order by calling on the police. Pursued by the police, the artist first changed hotels, surely to hide, before being caught.
