The choice of music could go unnoticed if it were not for a performance by a Japanese troupe. The signed staging of the Cameroonian, Merlin Nyakam offers a tasty marriage between Japanese precision and the art of the show made in Cameroon. "Le rêve de Takase", is an awareness with flora aimed at harmonizing man and the environment.
The character Takase, portrayed by a young Japanese actor, walks through a forest, with a huge suitcase in his hand which he says is his life.
While the hero falls asleep, lulled by the cries of crickets and the animals of the forest, he is awakened by deafening rock music. Room plunges into the darkness as if to emphasise the seriousness of the moment, black and white images scroll on a projection screen.
When the light returned, Takase is joined by nine other actresses, all draped in black, protective face masks, they perform dance steps in sync, under an air of classical music.
Their costumes amusingly recall the black Angel of death, thus illustrating the destruction to small fires on the planet. The man and the animals that inhabit the shift shortly feel the adverse consequences of the disregard for this precious gift of nature. In this piece, like a musical comedy, the actors of the Spac ply danced with elegance.
The piece of the Spac is a wish for a better life. The Japanese troop, led by Satoshi Miyagi, its artistic director, is in Cameroon at the invitation of the Minister of Arts and Culture, Ama Tutu Muna. The Ambassador of Japan, Tsutomu Arai, welcomed this cultural collaboration between the two countries.
