Make your high heel shoes comfortable with these quick tips

Heels

It’s amazing that we willingly wear shoes that sometimes hurt so much, which sometimes takes the whole night to recover. Many of us have adopted a “grin and bear it” attitude, choosing our love for stylish shoes over our desire to be comfortable. As much as we love our stilettos, we don’t love how they leave us limping, blistered, and sore all the time. Have been to places where ladies come in with chic heels but end up with no heels as time goes on. Not a good look. There should be some magic to cure this, right? Hope so…

Here’s 4 ways to make high heel shoes more comfortable-

1. Wear the Right Size:

There are a surprising number of women out there who still purchase shoes a size too small or too big. Too small and you run the risk of nerve damage and agonizing discomfort, too big and you will likely be covered in blisters by the end of the night. Make sure you get your exact size before purchasing them. And also, Know your foot type.

2. Shave Down Your Heel:

Taking an inch off can do the magic. If you’re willing to sacrifice a little height for the ability to walk through a room with ease, consider shaving down the heel. Any good cobbler can do that at a reasonable price.

3. Get Gel Insoles and Tape Your Toes:

Gel insoles solve a lot of heel-wearing problems. For one thing, they can prevent toes from scrunching and thereby prevent blisters. The ball of your foot is the part which suffers the most when wearing heels, so use ball/toe inserts to stay comfortable. According to the fashion blog Who What Wear, taping your third and fourth toes together is a legitimate way to stop heel pain. They’re nerves that split between your 3rd and 4th toe which causes pain in the balls of your feet. By taping the 3rd and 4th toes together with surgical tape, less strain is put on the nerve which helps alleviate pain.

4. Changing The Way You Walk:

Posture is important for so many reasons. Not only does it make you look as beautiful and confident as possible, it helps you keep a strong, even stride that prevents heavy clomping that can make heels hurt even more. The correct way to walk in heels involves keeping your head and spine straight, as if you’re being pulled up by a string. As you walk, use your hips to shift and lift your legs to the center with each step you take. Your paces should look more like a light bounce not like you marching.
