With nearly 54 billion CFA revenues in 2014, the famous creator of Soul Makossa, Manu Dibango emerged as the best paid musician in the world for the current year.

At 80 years, it seemed he was nearing his retirement as his artistic career was virtually at a standstill. But by dint of insight and determination he managed to reverse this trend to dominate the classification and emerged in 2014 as best-paid musician with estimated revenues of nearly EUR 82 million, approximately 54 billion CFA.

Yet, this does not seem to have made him complacent, even if everyone agrees that his spectacular return to the Summit was fuelled by "the world's best-paid musicians, according to the American economic magazine.

According to this magazine, People With Money and its highly anticipated list of "the world's best-paid musicians" recorded a raise between the months of September 2013 and September 2014 a sum of EUR 82 million, an increase of almost 50 million from the previous year.

Manu may have been challenged by the malicious insinuations against him after his brief conflict with the head Cameroon Music Corporation, civil society of management of copyright and the supervision of the Ministry of culture. But this was an experience he forgot about to focus on his business.
