The ever radiant musician Marole Tchamba has released her seventh album ‘7ème A Béatitude’ of which she is very proud of and a joy no one can take from her.

Marole who will be in Abuja, Nigeria on November 9 for the All Africa Music Awards (Afrima) represents Cameroon in the category of Best female artiste in Central Africa.

In an interview with culturebene.com, she talks about her new album, her journey in music, royalty and AFRIMA. Below is how the conversation went.

Born into a noble family, claiming queen Benskin, and have a total of "7" albums under your belt?

Yes 7 and it bears the title ‘7ème A Béatitude’ which means A Seventh Beatitude. This is my seventh album and it's a joy that no one can take away.

Tell us about this album already.

The album of six tracks includes the remix of Youlak Nyam, a title that included my fourth album which many have enjoyed. The album also has varied tracks in terms of rhythm and languages, including my local dialect Medjumba.

Even though it’s a pretty varied album, I 'm focusing on Benskin which is a tempo from home. This is my favorite rhythm, one that takes me all over the world. You will also find the Afro Zouk.

I sing in my tongue Medjumba, in French and English, and in terms of themes, we find love and recognition of the needy because we tend to forget them.

You know it can happen to you that you will not be able to take care of your children tomorrow. So who will do take care of them when you are not around? The example should start with those of us who are there for our children to assist the needy. But for those children who lost their parents due to some misfortune it’s sad. Hence, the title of one of the tracks, ‘Tendons leurs la main’ which means Tendons their hand.

Marole Tchamba already 21 year in your career! We can say that it's been a lot of years.

Yes, I am 21 years in my career, and it's also a coincidence because it was here in CRTV I started on the TV for the first time. I was a little girl then.

You are of a royal family, how was it possible for a little princess of your calibre to embark on the journey of music so early?

Why not? Everyone follows his destiny, I threw myself into the water and that's it. Now everyone is happy, I 'm a rhythm that carries a whole region, a country or even a continent. So there is no right person for anything, only God decides our fate.

You have also been nominated for the All Africa Music Awards 2014. Tell us about it.

Exactly, but you know, this is not the first African competition which I have participated in or won.

I have received an award in 2005 in Dubai. I later received awards mostly in Congo. The others included awards in Brazzaville, China and previous AFRIMA as well.

From these awards received, I appreciate that people are interested in what I do and that's very encouraging. It enables me work harder as an artiste, take good care of myself to look youthful and have an identity. So from this point, it is no longer a matter of Marole Tchamba is a case of Cameroon, Africa.

We are moving towards the end of the year, a very successful period for the artists; can we have the program Marole Tchamba this season?

Whew! I can tell you that I have a lot of dates fixed for other programs. In terms of my schedule, beginning from December I will be outside the country for two months. I will have to attend to several invitations in several countries of the world that I can not mention here. This is a lot! I 'll be back to Cameroon in mid -February.
