The Cameroon film Industry is a young and struggling domain. This is due to the lack of sponsors, poor marketing and insufficient media exposure in the sector.

It is safe to say that some Cameroonian movies lack originality as they are often mere replicas of Nigerian movies.

However, things are picking up, notably thanks to cheaper digital technology. Cameroonian movies are also gaining ground at the international level, for example 'Alma', a short film directed by Christa Eka Assah and produced and edited by Achille Brice.

It was released earlier this year and has already won 3 awards. Alma was the best short film at Miss Me Binga festival in May 2015, best short film at ECRANS Noir Film Festival in June 2015 and best short film of the continent at AFRIFF this November.
