A fearless nigga is he who sees the road to a Pharaoh’s kingdom and dares to pass without asking an authorization. It is a no hidden statistic that every year in Cameroon, there is always a release of either a hit song or a new act in the 237 music industry.

Introducing this year, is the next in line after Cameroon’s rap icon, Jovi.

Born in Mamfe on 27th September 1991, Cameroon’s next upcoming messianic rapper Shey Bertran Rinyui A.K.A Shey Trafiq. Coming from the same clan with Jovi, Pascal, and others, Shey Trafiq comes from the North West Region precisely from Ndu – Donga Mantung Division.

He started primary school in PS Mbengwi but due to governmental-posting and transfers of his parents, he got his first ever certificate, the First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) in GS Kumbo. Still in Kumbo, he obtained the GCE “Ordinary” level certificate and later the GCE “Advance” level certificate in GBHS Ndu. “Rap Music! I love Rap Music! The literature and the play of words involved in rap music is so captivating. It started gradually like a pass time but grew up to be a passion today” – Shey Trafiq explains the reason and push for him to do music.

Last year, the upcoming rapper was lucky enough to have a seat beside one of Cameroon’s finest producers, DJ Karl which resulted to the production of three of his songs: BAD PAZ, MR. PRESIDENT and his latest single “LANGSA” – all under his upcoming EP, Redemption.

“I think I am unique in my style. I am coming with what will talk more and will be an image of me. A folklore style of rap” – Shey Trafiq concludes.

A folklore style of rap he said! Could it be the redeeming style Cameroonians have been waiting for since the passing of Lapiro De Mbanga, king of Mboko?

Shey Trafiq, as quiet as he is, is also having food in the kitchen under the knives of the newest chef, Magic Fingers – to constitute the list of his #Redemption EP.
