The Limbe-based Seme Beach Hotel now boasts of a new beauty ambassador. The most beautiful girl who won the yearly beach beauty pageant holding at the black sandy beach of the hotel resort, was selected among 20 contestants and later consecrated on June 10.
21-year-old Sonia Aline Minkoe Moutcheu, an undergraduate of the University of Yaounde 1, convinced the six-member jury with her 1,80 metres height over 65kg silhouette. She chose the vulgarisation of Seme Beach Hotel's natural landscape and the promotion of Cameroonian culture and tourism as her platform. She was closely followed by Marie-Noelle Graobe and Pauline Arimbana Assamba, as first and second runners up respectively.
For the fourth consecutive year, the management of Seme Beach Hotel successfully organised and hosted the Miss Beach Competition. Out of over 70 registered contestants, a total of 46 prospective "Miss Beach" candidates were retained, from which the jury members further selected 20 finalists. The grand finale kicked off at the 3pm. After a parade in swimsuits, the candidates were evaluated for their cat walking and attire which saw the elimination of 10 girls. At the end, only 10 ladies were left for the extra exercise incorporated in the completion. The step involved expression skills, bilingualism and the presentation of a platform on a topic of her choice, as prospective Miss Beach.
After minutes of deliberation, the six-member jury was able to deliver the latest Miss Beach to the public. It was an ever smiling and proud Christine Evina (Miss Beach 2011) who handed over her crown to her successor. Miss Beach 2012 backed home a cash sum of FCFA 500.000 (compared to FCFA 250.000 last year) and a rain of gifts from Seme Beach Hotel and partner enterprises.
