Cameroon’s most beautiful woman, Miss Cameroon 2014, Larissa Ngangoum has placed her mandate on the platform: Education is a Human Right. The beauty queen says the Platform was originally launched in 2013.

Launched in Washington, DC, in Collaboration with the organization, Youth For Human Rights, Larissa says the project aims to “promote the Right to Affordable Education for Underprivileged Cameroonian Children.”

The new queen says she teamed up with Miss Ghana, under the Miss Africa USA Pageant last year to organize an exclusive Auction Fundraiser which provided scholarships for children in Cameroon and Ghana. An Essay Contest was launched for children in Cameroon, Ghana and Nigeria and winners received Scholarships.

“I will build on that Platform to support many more children in Cameroon to receive education. I want to be a role model for children who like myself are very intelligent and ambitious, but may not have the means to pursue their dreams,” Larissa says.

“I was blessed with the opportunity, so I will continue to bring hope to children and inspire them, while working with leaders in Cameroon, Africa and the world to make sure every child in every neighborhood and village has access to education,” she adds.
