Against all odds, Télesphore Ekegue, alias Ekeg's, a Cameroonian artiste, was sentenced to life imprisonment by the special criminal court (CHT) on July 16, 2014 in a case of embezzlement of more than 1 billion Cfa between the State of Cameroon and Clément Obouh Fegue.
In the case, the artist Ekeg's was sentenced to pay an additional sum of 44,972 million CFA FRANCS, as 'fine'. Immediately after the announcement of the verdict, his lawyer before the supreme Court appealed because according to him, some evidence had been voluntarily subtracted from the folder to harm his client.
Télesphore Ekegue, alias Ekeg's, who wanted to testify in favour of Obouh Fegue was summoned to the judicial police for a hearing. Arriving at the scene, he was asked to sign a document and his refusal to sign this document has resulted in the subsequent sentence.
Faced with this bitter and unexpected affront, identified and identifiable personalities do not forgive the artiste for refusing to sign the document at the judicial police.
While awaiting the verdict from the supreme court, the artiste remained serene.
