This is Revelation of Central Africa Canal d’Or 2015 winner, Congolese Mvoula Trésor, who said he knew he would be the winner in his category.
Q: Revelation of Central Africa, did you expect it?
A: Unpretentious, yes. I knew fans were overwhelmingly supportive based on the requests for different shows, their accession to my music and encouraging messages.
Q: Now you hold in your arms the Canal d'Or, how do you see the future now?
A: One slogan: Working more. I have no choice now that it's launched. We must continue really well.
Q: We know that this is your first international award.
A: That's true. In my country (Congo) I have pocketed about 4 or 5, but this is my first international.
Q: You are very regular in Cameroon. This is now your adopted land and the public appreciate you more. A good place for you, right?
A: Ah, that's for sure; I myself love Cameroon and its people treat me well. I am very touched by the attention that the Cameroonian public gives me because I know very how demanding it is in terms of music, especially when you come from elsewhere. Rather it urges me to work hard again, not to leave the people disappointed. When I am here I feel I’m Congo, that is why I dedicate this award to all Cameroonian fans and to all the Congolese people.
Q: So when will you be working with a Cameroonian artiste?
A: Very soon, that's for sure; you have artistes like Lady Ponce, Mani Bella, Numerica, Stanley Enow, Tizeu who interest me a lot.
Q: Looks like you know them by heart.
A: Yes, they are my friends. We even know each other well.
Q: What are your immediate plans?
A: I am planning to commit a maxi single of three titles soon.
Q: What motivated Mvoula Trésor to triumph in Cameroon?
A: I actually changed communications team, and I fell on Bertrand Lemix who currently supports my career in Cameroon. It is thanks to this gentleman that I know that there is success in Cameroon and I say thank you for everything.
