Now there’s been quite some misuse or misconception of the word ‘Dapper’ in recent times. Seen it being used inappropriately occasionally so I think we should just clear the air on that.
Dapper is a term, mostly used for guys and it refers to a guy that’s smartly dressed, well groomed, dashing, stylish and all of that. Yup! That’s what dapper means.
But it comes with a few additions in my own dictionary, the dictionary of Akin Faminu. I like to point out details in a Dapper man; I think there’s the conventional well dressed guy and then there’s the Dapper guy. The well-dressed guy just has to look like every other well dressed guy in the room but when there’s one dapper guy in that room, he’s better dressed than the best dressed.
A dapper man maximizes the use of his details, accessories, and he oozes confidence and charisma. Well mannered and the perfect definition of a gentleman, should we say a ‘Dapper Gentleman’.
Yes of course it applies more to corporate dressing but even on casual, you can still be dapper! I’ll show you guys what I mean in subsequent posts.
I really can’t overemphasize the importance of looking good all the time, you never know who you’re going to just come across or something, apart from the confidence it brings.
So fuel the fire, keep it going, and Look good, all the time!
