Mer., 8 Mai 2013 Source: Cameroon Tribune

A new movie "Mariage à Haut Risques" was presented to film lovers in Douala recently. The two-hour video produced by Horizon Movie deals with a number of contemporary issues lived in our daily society; with the main focus being violence on women.

According to the movie Director, Elvis Noulem, in spite of efforts put in place both at individual and collective levels; women are still subject to different forms of violence. He added that acts are taking more drastic forms, thus the urgent need for tougher measures.

Lies, betrayal, distrust... amongst others are the highlights of "Mariage à Haut Risques". Adora is married to Elvis and they have a male child. The husband leaves the village, telling his wife he is going on a business trip. Back in the village with her parents, she communicates with him by telephone. After several unfulfilled promises of coming back to take her along with him, she decided to pay him a surprise visit.

Upon arrival, she discovers that her husband to whom she has devoted her life time, was now married to another lady. The motive he advanced for his behavior was that the lady is rich and desperate for a husband, thus an opportunity for him to retrieve money from her to cater for his family.

Horizon Movie has produced other films like "Double Vies/ Double Lives" in 2007, "Le Secret/ The Secret" in 2010 and "Au Delà du Réel/Beyond Reality" released in 2012. Sold at FCFA 1,500 per DVD, the public is invited to adopt proper behaviours to promote women in their endeavours.
