The public of Bamenda was on Friday 10 October 2014 thrilled by the sensational musical trio X- Maleya during the second day of the Bamenda International Music festival dubbed “In the Moov”.

The musical trio who arrived Bamenda Thursday 9 October announced their presence over local radio stations before moving round in a motorcade during which the denizens lined the streets to have a glimpse of them.

Later on Friday evening ,they held the Bamenda public ,especially the youth spellbound at the Bamenda Congress Hall with the dancing dexterity and lyrics.

Earlier on Thursday ,Nigerian sensation Yemi Alade, Jovi and others thrilled the Bamenda public while rumours went round that Stanley Enow, another musical sensation had turned down the Bamenda trip. By press time on Saturday 11 October, emotions were already running wild with the announced presence of Petit Pays and “Les Sans Visa “ who were announced to be on stage at the Bamenda Congress Hall as part of the festival.

Speaking ahead of the arrival of the artists, the organizers of the four day event dubbed” In the Moov” , Walters Ntumngia said the festival will serve as an excellent platform to link young talents and confirmed artists. He said “In the Moov “ is a cultural cocktail that combines demonstrations, entertainment, genius, perfection, professionalism and ambiance in a festive atmosphere that will include gastronomy.

The event planner, Moustapha Ali for his part regretted that though a cultural hotspot in Cameroon, the north west region has continuously lagged behind in culture and entertainment. Thus, the music festival which is one of the many activities being carried out under the “project new Bamenda “ initiative intends to make Bamenda a cultural destination for both national and international artists in a music festival that will henceforth become an annual event.

The cream of artists visiting Bamenda have also been performing alongside selected local artists who are still unknown as well as another cultural display drawn from the rich cultural background of the region.
