Yaoundé welcomes women filmmakers from Central Africa in June

Women filmmakers from Central Africa will meet from 13 to 17 June in Yaoundé (Cameroon). The meeting will permit project promoters, trainers, producers and broadcasters present cinematic experiences in Yaoundé.

This residence will be organized under the theme "when the idea becomes a movie", as a prelude to the 6th edition of the international Festival of women films, scheduled from 24 to 27 June 2015. It is an initiative of the association Mis Me Binga, which enjoys the support of the Institut Goethe Kameroun and Academic (Association of the ladies of the image of Cameroon).

The residency is designed to support films likely to be carriers of attractive scenarios that open new perspectives in their form, their theme and their universe. It also aims to support the emergence of talented filmmakers, originating from the countries of the South. It also wants to be a crucible of exchanges between writers from different backgrounds and cultures.

The residence of writing is open to five projects in feature films, presented by women directors from countries such as Burundi, Cameroon, the Congo, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Chad.

A seasoned filmmaker trainer will accompany the authors in different work. The residency is an important framework of sharing of cinematographic experience between project promoters, trainers, producers and broadcasters present at Yaoundé.
