A new thrilling movie "Vice and Virtue" has been launched in Buea. The two-hour movie is centred on the lives of a single mother and her daughter, Megan. Produced by Fred Fondo, the main theme elaborated throughout the plot is revenge.

At a tender age, Megan is raped by one of three armed robbers who attacked their residence and killed her mother during the operation. Growing up as a girl, Megan has to battle with the stigma of having been raped, while her peers are boasting about their virginity. Hence, she swears on her mother's grave to avenge her death even at the cost of her own life.

In her quest for vengeance, Megan turns a deaf ear to advice from her mother's sister, Aunty Becky. Rather than go to church and pray, Megan seeks every possible means to realize her plan. The opportunity comes when she learns that the father of one of her friends owns a gun. One day, she sneaks into the house and steals the gun. Unfortunately, after shooting the culprit, she is caught for taking the law into her hands. The thief, Zama, cheats death and later repented. Meanwhile, Megan learns the truth about her father whom her mother claimed died when she was a year old. Not only is he alive, but it was his gun she had stolen to kill her rapist.

Other sub-themes that run through the movie are religion and forgiveness. It is seen that through the gospel, even a criminal like Zama could become a changed man. Also, the need for forgiveness as portrayed by Aunty Becky and some Christians is seen to be of help to all. For instance, even though Megan was hurt in the past, killing the culprit would not bring her mother or her virginity back; rather, she was getting herself into trouble. Similarly, father and daughter are reconciled only at the end of the movie. If the reconciliation had taken place earlier, being a Policeman, the father could have protected both mother and daughter from the assailants. Juvenile delinquency is equally condemned in "Vice and Virtue"
